Initially a sales assistant in Šibenik, in 1861 he established his own shop. By the late 1860s, he began producing and selling liqueurs in Šibenik which became well know in European market. In 1888, he moved the facotry to Zadar where he and his son, Robert, developed the largest liqueur production plants in Dalmatia. He later changed the name of the his most famour liqueur from Vlahov to Vlahovac.76
